For a long while I have been writing/recording songs that I haven’t let people hear. Obviously, this is a bad idea. In order to fix this error, I am starting music/scenery. Instead of recording a song and letting it fall by the wayside, never to be heard by anyone other than me, I will be posting songs that I record to this site. Hopefully, in doing this I will also be giving myself motivation for playing/recording more. Feel free to watch, listen, and check back from time to time. Email me with questions and comments: musicforscenery (at) gmail (dot) com.
[note: please listen with headphones!]

“The Last Scene” by Jason Roberts

As a first post in this journal of sorts, I am posting a song I wrote + recorded over the last few days. Instrumentation is about as simple as you can get: acoustic guitar, bass guitar, voice. The topic of the song is that of a ship’s crew becoming shipwrecked and drowning within sight of shore, which may or may not be an allusion to something different.

Of course, by writing/posting this I run the risk of giving too much away or sounding really annoying. So I will try to take the opposite route for the time being and only post songs and a few sentences about them.

Yours,

Jason
